In my life right now, there are babies babies everywhere! I have three baby showers on three consecutive August weekends. In honor of all of these delightful babies-to-be, I have come up with a list of my favorite baby items. I mean, have you ever tried to compose a baby registry?!? I seriously had (and still have) a slight panic attack whenever I walk into Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby. I mean, did you ever know there could be so many nipples or so many pacifier clips???
It is certainly difficult to determine your must-haves, but here is my list of favorite items. Since my little man is 7 months old, I can only speak to infant favorites. Also, I prefer natural products when possible!
1. Aden and Anais sleeping bags
These are so soft, lightweight, and breathable. We just zip them over pajamas, and off to bed!
2. Aden and Anais bibs
These are softer than any other bib I’ve seen, which makes them great for wiping baby’s face too. Plus, there are three snaps, so you can adjust the size as baby gets more neck rolls ;)
3. Lifefactory Glass Baby Bottle with Silicone Sleeve, Spring Green, 4 Ounce
Since these are glass, I feel comfortable putting them in the dishwasher and heating them. Plus, there are attachable sippy tops, which you can use as you transition to a cup. So far….we have not broken any.
4. The Honest Company wipes
It’s true! These really are thicker, softer, and more absorbent than various other wipes I have used. Plus, I love that they are:
Biodegradable • Hypoallergenic • Chlorine-Free • Medical Grade Cloth • Oeko-Tex® Sustainably Harvested
I love that this is more portable than the larger and more popular Sophie teether. Plus, our little guy just loved gnawing on the rippled edges. Plus, it’s 100 percent natural rubber.
These are great for freezing homemade baby food or transporting baby’s food. Again, I like that they are glass because they are freezer-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe.
I’m a huge proponent of reading to my child for language development and bonding. Plus, after a lot of practice, your child might actually sit still for more than 30 seconds to read a book. Here are my standbys.
This made me cry the first few times I read it (during those emotional first weeks). But I bucked up and can read it now without tears. It’s a must-have in my opinion…oh-so-sweet.
If you’re nursing, this support pillow is clutch, especially until nursing becomes more comfortable. I found the flat and sturdy base made feeding a newborn much easier. The pillow literally snaps around your waist, so you have support wherever you go! Plus, there’s a handy-dandy pocket on the front, which is perfect for toting around your cell phone or other essentials.
9. Boon Lawn Countertop Drying Rack
Whimsical and SO useful. I dry all of my bottles, pump parts, teethers….you name it on this adorable countertop drying rack. You can attach twigs and flowers so you have space to dry small parts.
10. Bebe Au Lait nursing cover
Perfect for nursing on the go. It’s lightweight enough that you don’t feel like you’re in a cloak, but also discrete enough to nurse anywhere…planes, bars, the zoo…you name it. I have certainly gotten my money’s worth on this one.
